Making the Grade
Peter was waiting, waiting, waiting for his exam result.
He heard his name being called and went to get the envelope.
He had worked all year, to get a good grade.
He had thought the exam had gone all right.
He had answered the questions, there were one or two questions he was not sure about, but most he had the answers written down, as soon as he read them through.
What would happen if he failed... would he have to do resits?
Would he still get in to university?
His mind was full of questions. Full of what ifs, he lifted his hand up to bite his nails, but just in time, he stopped himself.
He took a deep breath, and said, I did my best. What will be will be.
Worst case, I will have to do resits.
That does not sound good, and it isn't, but its best if I need to get better at the subject.
That's what I want, to do my best in each subject.
Best case, I pass the exams, and get into my chosen university.
Lets see.
Peter's name was called out.
He went to pick his envelope up. He opened up the envelope, and inside were the results.
It was mixed. He had results he wanted for university, but only just and some of the other subjects, he had almost failed.
He made it though. He had got his required grades in three of the subjects, but one he had missed quite a lot.
His eyebrow furrowed, he wanted to know what happened to get the misses. He thought he had done alright.
He would go back and ask for his corrected papers, so he would know what he did wrong.
Peter, thought - now what? what do I do?
Will the university take me with these grades alone?
Not as well as he had hoped, but he had met the grade.
The End.
